Take a break, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and join us for a day that’s all about connecting, relaxing, and enjoying the beauty of winter. We’ll start with a scenic snowshoe hike through snowy trails, followed by a casual meal in Cripple Creek to warm up and unwind. To cap off the day, we’ll explore the stunning Ice Castles—a magical display of lights and frozen artistry that’s even better shared with good company.

This is a chance to connect with like-minded people in a laid-back and welcoming space. No pressure, no expectations—just a fun, easygoing afternoon with a community that values the outdoors, sobriety, and genuine connections.

Afternoon Snowshoe Adventure

Our adventure begins with a wintery snowshoe hike on the Horsethief Falls Trail. This 2.6-mile round-trip trek offers moderate terrain, breathtaking views, and the perfect opportunity to connect with others.

📍 Trailhead Location: Horsethief Falls Trail
🕑 Meet-Up Time: 1:30 PM (arrive early to gear up and start on time!)
🎒 What to Bring: Warm layers, water, and snowshoes (rental details below).

Dinner in Cripple Creek

After the hike, we’ll head into town to warm up and refuel with a casual late lunch or early dinner before the evening’s main event.

Evening at the Ice Castles

End the day exploring the Ice Castles, a dazzling display of illuminated sculptures, tunnels, and slides. Seeing them at night when the lights are on is absolutely magical—don’t miss it!

📍 Ice Castles Location: Ice Castles, Cripple Creek
🕕 Entry Time: Between 6:00–7:00 PM

💲 Cost: Ice Castles tickets are $29 per person.

Additional Details

1) Carpooling Is Available and Encouraged:
Make the drive more eco-friendly and fun by carpooling with fellow adventurers! Let us know if you need a ride or can offer one when you RSVP.

2) Snowshoes Are Required (No Gear? No Problem!):
Snowshoes are required for the hike, and we can rent them to you for just $20. Let us know during RSVP, and we’ll have a pair ready for you at the trailhead.

3) Scholarships Are Available:
Need a little extra help with costs? Scholarships are available to make sure everyone can join. Please reach out confidentially when you RSVP if you’d like to explore this option.

4) One or Both Activities:
You’re welcome to join us for just the hike or just the Ice Castles, but we highly recommend making a full day of it! The Ice Castles are a shorter experience (30–45 minutes), so the hike is a great way to round out the day and make the most of the trip to Cripple Creek.
