Event Overview:

"Pride on the Peaks" is an inclusive snowshoeing adventure celebrating sobriety, connection, and the LGBTQIA+ community! This event is designed for sober, sober-curious, in-recovery, or considering-recovery individuals, along with their allies, friends, family, and supporters. Whether you're a seasoned outdoors enthusiast or just looking to try something new, this hike is for YOU.

We’ll be exploring the St. Mary’s Glacier Trail, a short but stunning 1.9-mile out-and-back route with jaw-dropping views of an alpine lake and the iconic glacier. The trail is rated moderately challenging, but don't worry—it’s well within reach for most people. We’ll take it slow, with plenty of breaks to soak up the scenery, snap photos, and connect with one another.

Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and sober-friendly space where LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies can come together to share the beauty of nature and the healing power of community.

This hike will be led by our founder, Nick, an LGBTQIA+ advocate and passionate outdoor enthusiast who has dedicated his life to creating inclusive, recovery-focused outdoor experiences. Learn more about Nick’s inspiration for Sober Outdoors HERE.

Trail Details:

  • Distance: 1.9 miles round trip

  • Elevation Gain: 465 feet

  • Difficulty: Moderate

The trail features a gentle climb through a stunning snowy forest, leading to the beautiful St. Mary’s Glacier and its picturesque alpine lake. While the trail is rated moderate, the hike is manageable for most participants with basic fitness. Snowshoes are required, as the trail can be icy or snow-packed in winter. If you’re new to snowshoeing, don’t worry—this is a beginner-friendly environment, and we’ll be there to support you every step of the way!
