What is

Story Hour?

The Sober Outdoors Story Hour showcases speakers sharing how the outdoors has transformed their sobriety and personal growth.

From scaling mountains to finding peace on the trails, their stories reveal the power of nature to inspire resilience, mindfulness, and healing. It’s a space to connect, learn, and celebrate the journey of recovery through the outdoors.

  • Experience the Story Hour, where you'll hear inspiring stories about the transformative power of sobriety and nature. Listen as speakers share how outdoor adventures have shaped their recovery and personal growth. It’s a unique opportunity to connect, reflect, and be inspired by real journeys of resilience and healing.

  • Join the Story Hour, happening every other Thursday at 7:00 PM, starting January 2, 2025.

Each session features a guest speaker—either a member of our Community, an outdoor professional, or an experienced adventurer—sharing their story about the connection between sobriety and the outdoors.

After the story, we invite you to join a 15-30 minute Q&A and discussion, where questions, comments, and reflections are highly encouraged.

To participate, you’ll need to sign up for each event, as the video link will be sent out on the day of the session. You will need to be a Community Member to sign up. Don’t worry, Community Membership is free for life. Guranteed.

Don’t miss this chance to connect, engage, and be inspired!

  • Interested in becoming a speaker for our Story Hour? We’d love to hear your story! Just email us at contact@soberoutdoors.org with your info and a brief spotlight about yourself, and we’ll get back to you to set up your event.
